BCC Exam Prep Sample Module: Listening That Produces Discovery

Strong coaching communication is not simply asking open-ended questions. It begins with a trustworthy working relationship, precise attention to what the client actually says, and a disciplined separation between observation and interpretation.

In this free sample module you will learn three levels of listening, recognize leading questions, distinguish productive silence from silence that calls for a check-in, and practice choosing the response that keeps the client’s meaning in the client’s hands. Read the short lessons, then try original scenario questions, each with an explanation of why the strongest answer wins and why the others fall short.

What you will practice: listening without interpreting too early; asking one purposeful question rather than a stack of them; checking a tentative observation with the client; and adapting communication to the individual rather than relying on stereotypes.

There is no charge for this sample module.

BCC Exam Prep is independent examination preparation, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE). The sample questions are original practice items, not actual BCCE questions.
